Viz says "the namekians have a few warriors who'd be too much for you."

It can be taken either way.

Hold on, but after the attack, doesn't Zarbon say to Appule that when he sees a Namek he has to get him, because some of them are strong and Appule can't handle more than 1 of them?
Key words here are more than 1, which means henshould be able to handle 1, which are about 3,000 according to PTO, so >~ 3000 would be a fair estimate.

I don't remember the manga exactly and can't find the quote right now tbh, but I believe it was this, can someone else find it maybe? It's when Zarbon goes looking for Vegeta with Appule.

Good luck I have the strength checker tab open right now. Appule was assigned to look for the Dragonballs, Zarbon said to run if there are strong Namekians but he never said how many in specfic.

1. Appule [#FR1#APP]
Chapter: 260 (DBZ 66), P5.2
Zarbon: “You look that way. If you find a village, don’t do anything--just come tell me! If there are strong Namekians there, you won’t be able to handle them! In any case, meet me back at the ship in three hours.”
Appule: “Yessir!”

2,500 is pretty likely.

EDIT: Damn, FP is so fast.

Nah, that was from Kai. Zarbon actually said he couldn't handle one at all:

Chapter: 260 (DBZ 66), P5.2
Zarbon: “You look that way. If you find a village, don’t do anything--just come tell me! If there are strong Namekians there, you won’t be able to handle them! In any case, meet me back at the ship in three hours.”

My fault then, I mix Kai and Manga quotes up sometimes.
Guess Appule is below it,
Dodoria did handpick him for his own Elite to kill Bardock's squad though, so he is a decent amount above an average soldier. 2,500 would be fair
That wasn't Appule who Dodoria had, the headspots are different and he died in that battle. Unless Appule is immortal, it was just a member of his race

I think that Appule needs one clone to take Bardock and MIGHT even be able to win without his clone
